Silas and I recently attended The Self-Care Social: Skin, Hair & Health, hosted by the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce at Harklinikken Beverly Hills — and what an inspiring evening it was! Podcast Interview: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2463334/episodes/18290876The
event brought together health and wellness professionals, community guests, and experts in skin and hair care for a night dedicated to education, connection, and self-care. I left with a deeper appreciation for something we often overlook: the health of our scalp and hair.
Why Hair and Scalp Health Matter
We often think about massages, facials, and skin treatments when we talk about self-care — but we tend to forget that our scalp is skin, too. Just like the rest of the body, it needs oxygen, hydration, and proper circulation to stay healthy.
At Harklinikken, we learned how oxygen-infused therapies and personalized scalp solutions can rejuvenate follicles and promote long-term hair strength. I even had the chance to have my scalp analyzed with a digital imaging device that measures scalp health and oxygen levels — it was eye-opening to see how science and self-care truly work hand-in-hand.
What Studies Show About Hair Restoration
Recent research highlights how far scalp-care technology has come.
Regenerative therapies have been shown to increase hair density by more than 6% and hair shaft thickness by nearly 40%, improving both appearance and scalp health.
Stem-cell and growth-factor treatments are also showing promise in clinical studies, signaling that hair restoration is not just a cosmetic goal — it’s a wellness breakthrough supporting confidence and emotional well-being.
Spotlight on Lashelle Ullie and the Lashelle Effect
Another highlight of the evening was meeting Lashelle Ullie, founder of The Lashelle Effect Atelier and a men’s skin-health expert. His live demonstration connected perfectly with the night’s theme — showing how skin, scalp, and self-confidence are all linked. His holistic approach reminded everyone that healthy skin care routines are essential for everyone, not just women.
Reflections on Self-Care and Wellness
Events like this reinforce a message close to my heart: self-care is preventive care. Whether it’s maintaining scalp health, supporting mobility, or using adaptive equipment for comfort and safety — it all comes down to one goal: helping people feel better, move better, and live better.
At CFS Medical Supplies & Equipment and CFS Solutions DBS, we're passionate about exploring new ways to merge healthcare, education, and personal wellness. The Self-Care Social reminded me that caring for the head is just as important as caring for the body — because true health starts from the top down.
